No shame in my video game-book-game.

I tried for a week and a half to get through 23 pages of an Ayelet Waldman novel I ended up abandoning, but have spent the past two hours completely engrossed in a book based on the Dragon Age video game series.

Draw from that any conclusions you will.

(I was surprised to find the Dragon Age novel has a higher average rating on Goodreads than the Waldman novel.)

  1. Ah, when you get the pull of a universe! I haven’t read the Dragon Age based novel, but I still spend many nights playing the game itself whereas I should be reading books instead. My conclusion is: the Dragon Age universe is a successful creation, to pull in players and readers alike that way.

    1. I hear that the one I read is the best one, so I’m not sure if I’ll read any others. But yes, I completely agree that it speaks well of the universe for me to have been so engrossed in the book!
